Get ready for Christmas! Step 2

Time is running very fast, and it is Sunday again, and here I am with the second step to get ready for Christmas. Last week, we talked about slowing down a little bit and releasing stress and anxiety.

The second step is: Wrap up this year! Look back and remember those happy moments, achievements you’ve done, challenges you had and how you got over them, who helped, supported you.

For this nostalgic journey, I brought you a gift; maybe you already know it: The Year Compass.

“YearCompass is a free booklet that helps you reflect on the year and plan the next one. With a set of carefully selected questions and exercises, YearCompass helps you uncover your patterns and design the ideal year for yourself.”

Give yourself a few calm hours and look back on 2021. Open your calendar to remember the most important dates, have a look at your pictures on your phone and search for the happiest moments. Listen to your favourite songs from this year. When you bring back a memory, remember all the little details (sounds, smells, taste, touch, vision, feeling).

If you had challenging times this year, give kindness to yourself!

Forgive others and for yourself!

Finally, plan your next year because “A goal without a plan is just a wish” (Exuperie).

I will come with the 3rd step next week ♥

Get ready for Christmas! Step 1

Christmas is coming, only 4 weeks from now. From previous experience, I know how frustrating realising on Christmas Eve you are there physically, but your soul is still on a meeting, or in the line at the supermarket etc.

I’d like to help you get ready for Christmas, Yule, Hanuka, or anything you wish to celebrate in the next few weeks.

If you feel distressed, it is absolutely fine! These last two years were hard for many of us!

Your feelings are VALID, REAL and MATTER! IT IS NORMAL NOT TO BE OK ALL THE TIME!

The first step is to slow down. Give some time for yourself and look back to your year and celebrate your achievements. When you go to your workplace, try a new route, or walk a few stops in the fresh air on your way home. Release the stress. Book a massage, yoga class or listen to meditation online.

Questions you can ask from yourself:

How are you?

What feelings do you have?

What are the things you’re waiting for this Christmas?

What is the thing you’d like to avoid this Christmas?

What will you gift for yourself?

What are the things not serving you anymore?

What 5 things can you do to relax more and slow down?

What is coaching about?

I work with many methods depends on your needs, but the basics are always the same:

We will have 5-7 sessions depends on your topic. The sessions are regularly 60-90 minutes long and could be on Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp calling, completely based on your comfort, at mutually agreed dates and times.

The gap between the first five sessions would be 7-10 days depending on mutual convenience and the time required to complete homework. The last session is a follow-up, usually four weeks after the 5th meeting.

  1. Setting up your goal
  2. Gathering resources
  3. Seeing your plan from different perspectives
  4. Finding your solution
  5. Wrap up your journey
  1. Setting up goal

Most of my clients usually doesn’t know which part of their lives they want to change. Or there are a few areas they’d like some changes. I support them to prioritise and find ONE to work with: one programme – one goal. Small changes can transform your habits, your mindset, your life.

  1. Gathering resources

Everyone has unique skills, qualities, strengths. And most of us usually like to focus on weaknesses, fears which hold us back. It is a beautiful moment when you face what the things you already achieve in your life are. Everyone has these powers. What is your superpower? What makes you a superhero?

  1. Seeing your plan from different perspectives

When you choose, you leave your comfort zone, move forward, change habits; you have to face the consequences of your actions, every aspect of them, what things inspire you to achieve your goal and the thoughts that hold you back. Facing these is essential to understand yourself and make the next step.

  1. Finding your solution

We have a look at your options. Which suits you the best, which do you like to most? After this session, you have a longer break for the next session to complete this step. Maybe this feels strange now, but this time you will be more confident in yourself, know yourself better, and most importantly, use your strengths and not work against them.

  1. Wrap up your journey

Coaching is about teaching you a positive way to handle your life challenges. During your journey, you will easily be able to create new goals and achieve them. In this session, we create a roadmap for you, with the following small steps to follow. We discuss the things that could go wrong and what are the solutions them. You will get tools and techniques to use, and at any point, I am here to help and support you.

+1. 4-6 weeks later, we have a follow-up session to discuss where are you now, how you feel yourself in your new life.
